About Us
The Miss Sacramento County Scholarship Program is a non-profit corporation affiliated with the Miss America Organization. Our purpose is to instill in the young women of our community the principle of hard work, growth and persistence that merit one’s success in life. The Miss America Organization is the largest scholarship foundation in the world for young women and, each year, more than 49 million dollars are awarded annually to more than 70,000 young women who participate in this program each year.
While there are many pageant systems throughout the nation, our program is unique in that each contestant is required to adopt a platform, an ideal that is important to her in her community and that she is willing to give community service to. Because of this requirement, our titleholders are passionate about serving their communities and work to make a difference throughout Sacramento County and beyond. In addition to each titleholder's personal platform, our organization is partnered with the Children’s Miracle Network and, each year, our girls help to raise money that directly benefits the children at the UC Davis Children's Hospital. To date, our title holders have raised over $30,000 for our local children's hospital and young women in the Miss America Program have raised over 11 million dollars for hospitals nationwide.
